Moving into BF4

Postby ares810770 » Wed Aug 20, 2014 1:39 am

Hello guys, cause the electronic products in China is much cheaper, I might buy a new graphic card and a CPU fan before I get back to Taiwan. I'm currently using Nvidia GeForce GTX 550Ti. Does anyone of you have any advice on what I should buy for my graphic card? It doesn't have to be SUPER good, since I don't have that much money...

Thanks a lot!

I have a GTX 770 and it is the best card I have ever owned. I paired it with an i3 3220 processor (temporarily until I upgrade to an i7) and because the game is well optimized and takes advantage of a good card, I get 70 / 75 FPS+ constantly.

I have no idea what the prices are in China, but the 760/770 or 280/280X are the sweet spot for performance/dollar in the US.

Agree with this, my 7850 was cheap as chips (even for the UK) and whizzes along quite nicely. Couple that with Mantle support for BF4 (which gives your CPU an easier time if it's a little dated) it's suprisingly good.

Assuming you have a 1080p monitor. Try to get anything higher than the Nvidia Geforce 650 / AMD Radeon HD 7770.

Please note your card is around the same speed as the Nvidia Geforce 650, but slightly slower than the AMD Radeon HD 7770.

I'm liking my r9 280. I only paid $200 and it can easily keep above 60 fps on high settings.

Thanks everyone, but Cracker do you mean that I'm fine by just getting Geforce 650 or Radeon 7770?
It's like much cheaaper than 700 series.

I would try to avoid last generation stuff.

However The 650 is ever so slightly slower than your card, and the Radeon 7770 is only a little faster.

Try to get the AMD Radeon R7 260x or higher

For Nvidia get the Geforce 750 ti or higher.

Those won't play ultra at 1080p but is better than what you have.

Yes they are, but you don't want to cheap out on a GPU. You get what you pay for.
