Well. Which one should I get and why?

We've been talking a fair bit about them lately and I'm thinking of bettering myself by getting one.

My personal preference are the blues, actually. I love the feeling of the presses, and that solid *click* when they are pressed makes me happy. Kind of like popping bubble wrap. But that being said, I think it's all about personal preference when it comes to the switches.

Also, if you are looking for specific boards, I really love the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate.

Go to Best Buy and find their gaming peripheral section. There might be a display of the razer blackwidow, logitech something, and a corsair k70. The razer most likely has their iteration of the cherry mx blue switch, logitech has browns, and the corsair should have reds. You can play around with them. If you liked Reds the most get that corsair or pick another brand. If you like the blue or brown switch please pick another keyboard brand(nothing wrong with logitech it's just that keyboard they sell has a lot of bloat features on it). Some good brands are cooler master, corsair, Das keyboards, Deck, Ducky(My personal favorite, I have two of them), filco, happy hacking keyboard, Leopold, max keyboard, rosewill, WASD keyboards, and some others. There are many companies to choose from and most of them will use cherry mx switches but some companies will use an iteration of the cherry switch like Razer. Don't get a Razer though, sub-par quality keyboards that cost a lot.

Cheers guys. I did some reading and looked up the details on all the colours. I'll drop into BestBuy and see what I can find there, get a feel for them.

I'll be replacing a Razer Lycosa which has done me pretty well for a couple of years but is starting to feel pretty flat. I guess I can get by with it quite happily but meh. It is an expensive piece of plastic with no real benefits over a regular board.

If you want a high end mechanical keyboard then there is only one i will ever suggest to you. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6823816022
It's only available in Cherry MX red switches now but will be available with all the kinds of Cherry MX switches in the future. So if you like the feel of Red switches then I would buy it. They already sold out on Amazon, http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance ... B00KX8OJK6

The K70 was a bit pricey and was harder to find when I was looking for one, so I ended up buying the K95 at a lower price.

Duck Shine 3

It does have a premium price tag on it but the build quality is out of this world, you can kill a full grown man with it and it will still last you 10 years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFWR8r5sdWY

I use a CoolerMaster QuickFire TK mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Green switches. I also have a 1989 Model M IBM Buckling spring keyboard. I like clicky keys :) CoolerMaster QuickFire TK should run you about ~$70 (depending on your switch color) and is very compact

Went with a Logitech G710+ in the end. Mostly because it was on the shelf but also because I love the keys. I think it has browns and they are the right balance of clicky & quiet.
